About this project

What we're building.

Phase 4 of the Next-Gen Journalist Program.

The Media Challenge Fellowship Program is premised on its wholesome nature to continue supporting fellows and journalism students post-program to grow professionally and personally. Its goal is to nurture a community of young journalists who promote storytelling for social change. In 2021, the growing community elected its own leadership committee, which organizes activities and engagements for the group. The MCI alumni community, composed of alumni from various MCI training programs including the Media Challenge Fellowship Program, includes hundreds of young journalists working for Ugandan media houses and their own media startups.
