Incubating Media Innovations

Incubating Media Innovations.

The MCI Media Hub as a co-working space and capacity-strengthening centre.

Our approach

How Innovation works.

A structured space where young media entrepreneurs build and test products, formats, and revenue models — so journalism itself has a viable future, not just viable stories.

Incubating Media Innovations
Why now

To fix the existential crisis of media viability and the rapidly changing consumer media habits across Africa.

Leading assumption

Africa's newsrooms will only survive if innovation, business modelling, and community trust are built into the same room — not bolted on after the fact.

Our solution

Our Media Viability Approach combines a co-working space (MCI Media Hub), a community of innovators, capacity strengthening for newsrooms, and the MCI SDGs Media Van as a convening community for media viability.
