About this project

What we're building.

Phase 1 of the Next-Gen Journalist Program.

The Inter-University Media Challenge is the on-ramp into the entire 6S Model. Each year, MCI brings students from 17+ Ugandan universities together to anchor, report, and produce news stories under real newsroom conditions — judged by working editors and broadcast professionals.

Winners join the MCI Fellowship pipeline; runners-up join newsroom partnerships. The Challenge has been running since 2012 and remains the first inter-university news anchoring and reporting campaign in Uganda.
